Terms of service

The agreement between you and us. Written to be understood, because an agreement you had to guess at is not much of an agreement.

Last updated 24 October 2026

1. The agreement

This is an agreement between you and Mirat Soft Private Limited. "We" and "us" mean that company. "You" means the person or the company using SplitStat.

You accept it by creating an account. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you are confirming you are allowed to bind that company.

The privacy policy is part of this agreement.

2. What we provide

SplitStat runs A/B tests, split URL tests and feature rollouts on your website, records what happened and reports which version did better. What your plan includes is set out on the pricing page.

We improve the product continuously, so screens change and features are added. If we remove something you rely on, we will give you notice by email first.

3. Your account

Keep your password to yourself, use two-factor authentication or a passkey, and tell us quickly if you think somebody else has got in. What happens under your account is your responsibility, including what the people you invite to your workspace do.

You must be 18 or over, and this is a business product rather than a consumer one.

4. The free trial

The trial lasts 30 days and takes no card. When it ends, nothing is charged automatically. You choose a plan and pay, or the account stops running tests.

Because the trial is free and requires no payment details, there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund.

5. Your data and your visitors

Your tests, your results and everything our snippet records on your site belong to you. We claim no ownership of them. We use them to run the service for you and for nothing else. We do not sell them, and we do not train models on them.

For the people who visit your website, you are the controller and we are the processor. In plain terms, they are your visitors, not ours. That makes three things yours to handle:

  • Telling your visitors that testing happens, in your own privacy notice
  • Having a lawful reason to record their visits, and running a consent banner where the law where they live requires one
  • Passing on their requests to see or delete their data. Ask us and we will carry them out

Our snippet reads a consent banner automatically when you turn consent on for a project. It is switched off by default, so if you need it, switch it on.

If you need a data processing agreement, write to [email protected] and we will send you one.

6. What you must not send us

You can attach your own details to an event, for example which plan a purchase was on. That field is for categories and amounts.

Do not put personal details in it. No names, no email addresses, no phone numbers, no postal addresses, no payment details, no government identity numbers, and nothing about health, race, religion, politics, sexuality or trade union membership.

We deliberately built the product so it never stores a visitor's IP address with their data. Sending us personal details by hand undoes that, and it is the one thing that turns a low risk system into a high risk one. If we find personal details in your events we may delete them without notice, and we will tell you why.

7. What you must not do

  • Resell the service or give access to somebody who is not part of your business
  • Work around a limit on your plan, or run traffic through one account for several unrelated businesses
  • Copy, decompile or reverse engineer the product
  • Use the snippet to change a page in a way that is illegal, deceptive or harmful, or on a site you do not control
  • Attack the service, probe it without permission, or overload it deliberately
  • Use it for anything unlawful where you or your visitors are

If you do one of these we may suspend the account. Where it is safe and lawful to warn you first, we will.

8. The snippet on your site

You install the snippet yourself, on websites you own or are authorised to change. You decide what it changes on your pages, and you are responsible for those changes, including whether the resulting page is accurate, legal and accessible.

We update the snippet so it keeps working in new browsers. We test those updates, and a change that alters behaviour gets notice first.

9. Fees, renewal and refunds

Fees are on the pricing page and are charged in advance through Stripe or Paddle. Taxes are on top where they apply.

Where you pay through Paddle, Paddle is the merchant of record: it sells you the plan on our behalf, issues the invoice and collects the tax. Its buyer terms then cover the payment itself. Everything else about the service is still this agreement, between you and us.

Plans renew automatically until you cancel, at the price in force at renewal. We tell you before a price rise, and you can cancel instead of paying it.

Fees are not refundable. Cancel whenever you like, in the dashboard, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Nothing is refunded for the part you did not use. The 30 day trial is free and takes no card, so nobody pays before they have used the product.

If a payment fails we will try again and email you. If it keeps failing we may suspend the account.

10. Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time. We can end this agreement if you break it seriously and have not fixed it within 30 days of us telling you, or immediately if you use the service unlawfully.

Export what you want to keep before you close the account. Afterwards we keep everything for 90 days in case you come back, then delete it. Invoices stay for as long as tax law says they must.

11. Availability

We aim to keep the service up and we watch it continuously. We do not offer a service level agreement or service credits on our self-serve plans today. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where we can.

The part of the product that serves your visitors is built to fail quietly. If our service is unreachable, your original page is shown as it would be without us.

12. Who owns what

We own SplitStat: the software, the snippet, the design and the name. You get the right to use it while this agreement lasts, and nothing more.

You own your data, as set out in section 5. You give us only the permission we need to store it, process it and show it back to you.

If you send us an idea or a bug report, we may act on it without owing you anything.

13. What we do not promise

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that it will increase your conversion rate.

A test result is a measurement, not advice. Deciding what to do about it is yours.

14. Limits on liability

Neither of us is liable for indirect losses: lost profit, lost revenue, lost data or lost business opportunity.

Our total liability under this agreement, however it arises, is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that the law does not let us limit, including for fraud or for death or injury caused by negligence.

15. Confidentiality

Each of us will keep private what the other shares that is not public: your tests, your results and your plans on your side, and anything non-public about how the product works on ours. We use it only to carry out this agreement, and share it only with the people and sub-processors who need it to do that.

This does not cover anything already public, anything one of us already knew, or anything a court or a law makes us disclose. It lasts for as long as the information stays confidential, including after this agreement ends.

16. Claims by others

If somebody else claims that SplitStat itself, as we supply it, infringes their intellectual property, we will defend you against that claim and pay what a court awards or what we agree to settle for. This does not cover a claim that comes from your changes, your content, or from combining SplitStat with something we did not supply.

If somebody else makes a claim against us because of the content of your website, the changes you made with the snippet, or the data you collected or sent us, you will defend us and pay the same way.

Whoever is defended must tell the other side about the claim promptly, let them run the defence and help where reasonable. What we pay under this section counts towards the limit in section 14.

17. Changes

We may change these terms. If a change matters to you we will email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page moves. Carrying on using the service after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not, close the account.

A change that does not matter to you, such as a new address or a clearer sentence, takes effect when it is published here.

18. The small print

Things outside our control. Neither of us is responsible for a delay or failure caused by something outside reasonable control, such as a major outage of the internet, a natural disaster or a government order. This never excuses a payment that is due.

Handing the agreement on. You can pass this agreement to somebody else only with our written agreement. We can pass it on as part of a merger, an acquisition or a sale of the business, and we will tell you if we do.

Notices. We send notices to the email address of the account owner. You send them to [email protected].

The whole agreement. These terms, the privacy policy and any data processing agreement we have signed with you are the whole agreement between us. Terms on your purchase order do not apply.

19. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of India.

If any part of this agreement turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of it still stands.
